Biography

Born in Wrexham, David joined the club’s junior ranks in 1961. A promising left-back, he made his Welsh Amateur Under-18 debut the following February, lining up alongside team-mate David Powell in a 0-3 defeat away to Northern Ireland.
In total Williams spent three seasons at the Racecourse but, despite impressing in reserve matches in the Cheshire League, was unable to force his way into the first team reckoning under player-manager Ken Barnes.
