Biography

A 21-year-old centre-forward, Ivor joined Wrexham on a month's trial in July 1965. Signed on amateur forms, an injury to Martyn King saw the former Blaenau Ffestiniog striker handed a first senior start in a pre-season friendly at Rhyl.

Griffiths impressed manager Billy Morris sufficiently in the 3-1 win to lead the attack in Wrexham Reserves' opening day encounter with Ellesmere Port Town at the Racecourse. Part of a very young starting XI, Ivor was forced off through injury midway during the second-half as the visitors romped to a 6-1 success. It proved to be his last appearance in a Wrexham shirt.
